Wilhelmina Toews
Background & Special Interests
I have lived in the Cowichan Valley for over 30 years. Raising 2 sons, teaching fitness and working as a personal trainer for most of it. I have a passion for the outdoors, sport and fitness, and have played on many competitive lacrosse and football teams over the years.
In 2018, following my passion for health and wellness I returned to school to become a massage therapist. I graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2020, maintaining my Fitness & Personal Training qualifications.
I am an intuitive therapist, taking the time to listen to my patients and assess their issues and concerns. I am dedicated to improving the general well-being of every patient. The combination of maturity, intuition, clinical skills, life experience and personal training helps with my decision making and delivery of therapeutic treatments.
My clinical techniques span many different modalities and treatments are specifically tailored to the needs of each patient to make sure they receive the approach that works best for them. Transitioning from deep to superficial massage as required.
I use a combination of deep tissue massage, muscle energy techniques, active release, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, movement, stretching and strengthening exercises. Relaxation techniques are also used to provide patients with the most effective therapeutic treatments possible for a wide variety of ailments.
I am also dedicated to growing my knowledge and continue to pursue education and follow my passions. I have a special interest in Neurological disorders, Cranial Sacral, Lymphatic Therapy and Pelvic Health.

Mission
The Body & Mind Connection
I want my patients to take control of their own healing. To understand how powerful their minds and bodies really are. How each organ and symptom is part of a larger system. Healing chronic and intractable ailments takes a certain level of sensitivity. I strive to create a sense of body awareness, a balance of length and strength, and empowerment, following a whole body healing approach.
